What is a hotel category?

All participating Marriott hotels are assigned Marriott Rewards categories based on location and amenities. To determine a hotel's category, go to Marriott.com. Enter the city, state and country information to look up any Marriott brand hotel or to find out the requirements for a free stay using points. When you get to the homepage for the hotel, the hotel category will be listed.
